Historical background

The idea to form the bank was conceptualized on an airplane in transit between Goma and Johannesburg wherein businessmen both Congolese and South African expressed similar problems in that the trade and incredible potential was clearly evident but the service infrastructure was non existent. Prior to landing it was determined that Private bank Of Congo would become a reality. South African shareholders provided funding and the bank was fully capitalized and licensed on 11th November 2002.
